Great Wolf Lodge is not sexy. Nobody is packing the anniversary outfit. There is no rooftop bar we're dying to review, and you probably aren't posting the room tour with a slow R&B song behind it. The kids do not give a damn.

Great Wolf built an entire hotel brand around one thing: making children believe you are the greatest parent alive for approximately 48 hours. The massive indoor waterparks are the headline, but then come the slides, wave pools, splash areas, MagiQuest, arcades, ropes courses, mini golf, character activities and enough additional distractions to wear everybody out before bedtime.

And that's exactly why it belongs on BlkTravel. Black travel isn't only couples trips, girls' trips and luxury resorts. We're parents. We travel with nieces, nephews and grandkids. We plan birthdays and spring breaks and those random weekends when the children have been in the damn house too long. Great Wolf understands that trip extremely well.

Now the bad. This shit can get expensive fast. The room rate is only the beginning once you add food, activities, arcade money, MagiQuest, upgraded passes and whatever else your child suddenly discovers exists. The food isn't why we're coming, and if you hate being surrounded by excited children, what the hell did you think was going to happen at Great Wolf Lodge?
