THE RESORT THAT REFUSES TO BE LEFT OFF THE LIST
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana is big, bold, energetic, and unapologetically built for travelers who want more than a beautiful beach and a quiet pool. This sprawling all-inclusive feels like a destination of its own, combining a gorgeous stretch of Punta Cana coastline with multiple pools, restaurants and bars, live entertainment, a casino, nightlife, family activities, and enough things to do that spending an entire week on property does not feel unreasonable.
What makes Hard Rock especially interesting is how many different trips can happen at the same resort. Families can build a full vacation around the pools and activities, couples can retreat into their own experience, and friend groups can lean completely into the social side of the property. You can spend one day doing absolutely nothing near the water and the next bouncing between activities, dinner, drinks, the casino, and whatever is happening after dark.
Hard Rock Punta Cana did not officially crack our Top 20 this year, but it came close enough that leaving it off the page entirely did not make sense. Honorable Mention #3 still puts this resort firmly on our radar, and it may not stay outside the Top 20 for long.

Hard Rock Punta Cana is a whole lot of resort, and that is exactly the point.
You can bring the kids, bring your friends, bring your parents, or turn it into a couples trip and still find your own version of the vacation. There is enough energy when you want it and enough space to disappear when you don't. For Black travelers who like their Caribbean vacation social, lively, and full of options, Hard Rock makes sense.
It lands at Honorable Mention #3 this year, but this is absolutely one we'll be watching when the rankings come back around.
