This is Bahia Principe's new family-and-group-oriented side, absorbing experiences that previously sat under names like Grand and Fantasia. That means pools, activities, entertainment and resorts designed around people actually doing things together. This is where we'd look for the multigenerational trip, family vacation, reunion or group getaway where we need enough going on that an eight-year-old, a 38-year-old and somebody's 68-year-old auntie can all find something to do. CAYO LEVANTADO RESORT - And then there's Cayo Levantado. This isn't simply “the expensive Bahia Principe.” It deserves its own identity. Located on its own island off Samaná in the Dominican Republic, Cayo Levantado moves away from the traditional large all-inclusive formula toward something more intimate, wellness-oriented and deliberately connected to Dominican culture and its natural surroundings. This is the one for the honeymoon, anniversary, reset or vacation where the objective is to make the outside world considerably less important for a few days. No waterpark required. Close the door.
