There is no single definition of a great destination for Black travelers. Sometimes we want the beach and an all-inclusive wristband. Sometimes we want food, nightlife, and a city that does not go to sleep early. We travel for history, romance, family, adventure, culture, luxury, and sometimes simply because the group chat finally managed to agree on a destination.

That is why BlkTravel's Top Travel Destinations for Black Travelers is not a list of places that simply photograph well. We look at the complete experience. Where can we stay? What can we do after dinner? How easy is it to build a full itinerary? Is there culture beyond the tourist attractions? Does the destination offer experiences that actually connect with the way Black Americans travel?

Some destinations on this list will feel familiar. Others might make you open a new tab and start checking flights. They do not all offer the same vacation, and that is exactly the point. The best destination depends on the trip you are trying to have. From quick domestic escapes and Caribbean favorites to cities across Africa, Europe, Latin America, and beyond, these are the places we believe deserve a spot in the Black travel conversation.
