Atlanta changes depending on what you came here looking for.

There is the Atlanta of rooftop dinners, Buckhead hotels, steakhouses and reservations. There is the Atlanta that starts with brunch and somehow ends at 3 a.m. There is Black Hollywood, Black business, Black history, HBCU culture, hip-hop, sports, festivals, museums, family weekends and enough restaurants to make choosing dinner unnecessarily difficult.

And then there is the Atlanta visitors miss. Atlanta is not just Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. Some of the city's best experiences require getting away from the obvious tourist map. Southwest Atlanta, the Westside, East Atlanta, Sweet Auburn, the AUC, College Park, Camp Creek, Decatur and communities throughout the metro all tell different parts of the story. That matters because Atlanta isn't one version of Black culture. It's old Atlanta and new Atlanta. Corporate and creative. Bougie and hood. Southern and international. Historic and still figuring out what it wants to become. Sometimes all of that exists within a few miles of each other.
