Hilton Worldwide Review
Hilton is enormous. And that's exactly why simply saying “I stayed at a Hilton” doesn't tell us nearly enough. Were you at a Waldorf Astoria? A Conrad? An independent luxury hotel carrying the LXR flag? A massive Signia convention hotel? A Curio Collection property with its own personality? A Canopy in the middle of a neighborhood? Or an actual Hilton Hotels & Resorts property? Those can be completely different vacations. Hilton now encompasses 28 brands, more than 9,400 properties and hotels across 144 countries and territories. Its portfolio stretches from some of the world's most recognizable luxury hotels to resorts, lifestyle properties, full-service hotels, extended-stay brands and more. That's why BlkTravel doesn't treat Hilton like one hotel brand. We treat it like an ecosystem. And among the world's major hotel groups, we rank Hilton #3.
THE BLKTRAVEL TAKE
Hilton's greatest strength isn't Waldorf Astoria. It isn't Conrad. It isn't the DoubleTree cookie. It's choice. There are hotel groups that we love because they do one particular thing exceptionally well. Hilton's advantage is that it can follow you through damn near your entire travel life. Need somewhere dependable near the airport? Hilton. Going to a convention? Hilton. Taking the kids somewhere? Hilton. Want a stylish weekend in the middle of a city? Hilton. Want something locally inspired instead of something that feels like a chain? Hilton. Want a legitimate luxury resort where the hotel itself becomes part of the vacation? Still Hilton. And that's where the portfolio becomes much more interesting than the Hilton name sitting on top of a building.
DON'T PICK A HILTON. PICK THE RIGHT HILTON.
This is probably the most important thing we can tell you on this page. Hilton is not one experience. Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and LXR sit within Hilton's luxury portfolio, while Curio and Tapestry are collections of individual hotels designed to retain more of their own identity. Canopy emphasizes neighborhood-driven stays. Signia targets sophisticated travelers and major meetings and events. Hilton Hotels & Resorts remains the company's flagship full-service global brand, while DoubleTree provides another enormous network of full-service hotels.
So BlkTravel has done some of the sorting for you.
Instead of throwing every Hilton brand onto one page, we've divided the part of the portfolio we're most interested in into three doors.
