Atlanta has one of the South's most important LGBTQ+ communities, and Black LGBTQ+ culture is a major part of that story. This guide isn't simply a roundup of gay bars in Midtown. We're exploring the full scene: historic Black gay institutions, lesbian nightlife, drag shows, dance clubs, leather culture, queer neighborhood bars, grown Black LGBTQ+ spaces and the places where everybody ends up dancing together anyway.

Atlanta is also home to Black Gay Pride, one of the country's most significant Black LGBTQ+ gatherings, but this community doesn't disappear when Pride weekend ends.
