Since 1959, Lenox Square has grown into the shopping center against which Atlanta malls are measured. Today there are nearly 250 specialty stores alongside Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus and Macy's, with everything from Zara and Apple to Prada, Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Tiffany & Co. Lenox has occupied a particular place in Atlanta culture for generations. Shopping here can be practical, aspirational and social all at once. You might actually need something. You might be looking for an outfit for tonight. You might want designer. You might want sneakers. You might just want to walk around and see what's happening. For Black Atlanta especially, Lenox has long been more than somewhere you go because there's a Macy's.
