This isn't here because we're trying to check a diversity box. It's fun to shop. Walk around. Clothes. Shoes. Jewelry. Beauty. Western wear. Formalwear. Cell phones. Gifts. Specialty vendors. Services. Things you weren't specifically looking for. Then there's the food. And that's when your quick shopping trip starts becoming an afternoon.

Plaza Fiesta works because it doesn't feel like somebody built a development and then hired a consultant to give it culture. The culture is the experience. You're going to hear Spanish. You're going to smell food. You're going to see families. You're going to walk past businesses and products that may be completely different from what you just saw at Perimeter Mall. That's exactly why they're back-to-back on our list.

We want you to experience both. And for Black travelers, particularly those of us who travel because we actually enjoy being around other cultures, this is part of understanding what Atlanta has become. Atlanta isn't only Black and white. It hasn't been for a long time.
