Central Park gives Atlanta hoopers something valuable: four outdoor basketball courts in one centrally located public park. Four courts. Outside. In the city. Bring the ball. Central Park sits at 400 Merritts Avenue, close enough to Downtown, Midtown and Old Fourth Ward that a traveler can realistically work it into the day. More importantly for this list, the City of Atlanta identifies four outdoor basketball courts here. That matters. One basketball court can mean somebody's already using it. Four courts give basketball room to breathe. Maybe there's a run going. Maybe you've got enough people with you to make your own. Maybe you just want to shoot for an hour before everybody else wakes up. That's the beauty of a public court. And this is where our definition of an Atlanta attraction starts looking different from everybody else's.

We're not claiming Central Park is something you need to photograph. We're not telling you the basketball courts are architecturally stunning. They're basketball courts. That's the point. If you're the person who packs basketball shoes on vacation, you don't need another travel writer telling you where to play mini golf. You need somebody to tell you where the courts are.
