Atlanta didn't become the Black Mecca because somebody came up with a good tourism slogan. The title was built over generations. This is the city of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Sweet Auburn. The Atlanta University Center. Historic Black neighborhoods. Black churches. Black businesses. Civil rights leaders, educators, entrepreneurs and institutions that helped shape not only Atlanta, but Black America.

And that story is bigger than one museum or one historic district. BlkTravel's Historic Atlanta guide is about helping visitors move through the city with context.
