Gaja Korean Bar Review
Gaja Korean Bar brings Korean food, cocktails and an intimate underground atmosphere to East Atlanta Village, creating one of the city's more distinctive neighborhood drinking experiences. This is why the list can't just be Black bars. Atlanta is Black as hell. We know that. But one of the benefits of being in a city this diverse is being able to leave one neighborhood experience and walk into something completely different. Gaja gives us that.
Tucked into East Atlanta Village, the Korean bar pairs drinks with Korean food in a darker, intimate room that feels completely different from the big social bars elsewhere in the ranking. This is somewhere we'd send the traveler who wants to eat, drink and actually explore a neighborhood rather than simply find the biggest crowd. And EAV makes it even better. Gaja doesn't have to carry the entire night. Have dinner and drinks here, then walk out the door and see where East Atlanta takes you.
BlkTravel would choose Gaja for: adventurous dates, Korean food, cocktails, East Atlanta bar hopping, small groups, neighborhood exploration and travelers who want something different.

Gaja earns #5 because Atlanta's diversity should show up in our rankings too.
There are bigger bars. There are louder bars. There are certainly bars with more obvious Black social presence.
But Gaja provides something the first four don't: a distinctly Korean drinking and dining experience embedded inside one of Atlanta's most eclectic nightlife neighborhoods.
That's enough to make it one of our favorite bars in the city.
